Author Guidelines
1. The ΤΕΚΜΗΡΙΑ review publishes articles in the following languages: Greek, English, French, German and Italian. 2. All papers must be submitted electronically to the review’s email address or to the review’s website. At the same time, the paper must be sent on paper and floppy-disc or CD-R to the review’s postal address. Notes will be numbered consecutively. All pictures and maps included in the paper are to be sent in jpg. or tif. format to the email address. A floppy-disc with this material and printed copies thereof are to be sent to the postal address. All pictures must have captions. The attached file must be sent by email with a cover letter indicating the software, word processor and font used for ancient Greek and other particular cases. The use of Unicode is highly recommended. Each review issue has between 10 to 13 signatures and therefore submitted papers must not exceed 10,000 words each; this includes the bibliography and the charts. Bibliographical references must be submitted in the following form: the author’s first name –in full or abbreviated form for men and in full for women- and last name in lower case and normal font; the title of the paper in low case and normal font using quotation marks; after a comma and in italics the abbreviated title of the review and the specific issue and in brackets and normal font the publication year, followed –without a comma- by the numbers of the pages. See two examples below: •Εὐάγγ. Πεντάζος, «Γλυπτὰ ἐκ Θράκης», ΑΑΑ 2 (1969) 194-195. •H. B. Mattingly, “Epigraphically the Twenties are too Late”, BSA 65 (1970) 129-149. References to monographs must figure as follows: author’s name in low case and normal font; the title of the monograph in italics and, in brackets, the place of the acknowledged publication (in the same language as the article) and the publication year in normal font followed by the number of the relevant pages. See examples below: •Ν. Μ. Kontoléon, Τὸ Ἐρέχθειον ὡς οἰκοδόμημα χθόνιας λατρείας, (Athènes 1949) 14-20 (for an article to be published in French). •P. J. Rhodes, The Athenian Boule (Ὀξφόρδη 1983) 82-87 (for an article to be published in Greek). In the case of a monographic series: •Argyro Tataki, The Roman Presence in Macedonia. The Evidence from Personal Names (“Μελετήματα” 46; Athen 2006) 73-77 (for an article to be published in German). Abbreviations should conform to the practice of the American Journal of Archaeology or of the Archäologische Bibliographie or of the Année Philologique. In the case of multiple references to the same work, the author’s name will be followed by a comma and a key-word, thus: •Πεντάζος, «Γλυπτά» (for an article); Tataki, Presence (for a monograph). Abbreviations for ancient authors and works should conform to the practice of the Oxford Classical Dictionary; i.e.: Plut. Alex. (for a paper in English), Πλουτ. Ἀλέξ. (for a paper in Greek); volumes, chapters and paragraphs will be indicated in Arabic numerals followed by stops. SEG abbreviations are to be used for inscriptions. An abstract, written in English and comprising at most 200 words, must also be submitted. All pictures and maps should be sent to the review’s editorship together with the revised version of the paper. This material will only be published if it has copyright authorisation for publication and reproduction and on condition it is presented in the format described in the review’s Instructions for authors. Authors who submit articles to this journal confirm that third-party intellectual property rights are not violated in any way. By virtue of their appearance in this open access journal, articles can be used freely, with proper attribution, for educational and other non-commercial purposes. The National Hellenic Research Foundation retains the right to publish papers that appear in ΤΕΚΜΗΡΙΑ in any form, including electronic, the journal may assume in the future. 1. The National Documentation Centre (henceforth EKT)/National Hellenic Research Foundation (henceforth EKT/NHRF) recognizes the importance of protecting the information collected from users in the operation of this website, and takes steps to maintain the security, integrity and privacy of any information in accordance with this privacy policy. By submitting your information to ΤΕΚΜΗΡΙΑ you consent to the practices described below.
2. Registration with ΤΕΚΜΗΡΙΑ is optional and voluntary. Personally-identifiable information about individuals (henceforth, Personal Data) may include name, title, company, address, phone number, email address, and other relevant data. Questions or comments submitted by visitors may also include Personal Data. Browsing, viewing and downloading articles and other content of this website do not require any Personal Data to be submitted by users. The aforementioned functions do not require the user's browser to be set to accept cookies.
3. The Personal Data entered in this Website will be used exclusively for the promotion, support and implementation of the purposes of this journal. Whenever EKT/NHRF collects and uses Personal Data, it does so for business purposes, i.e.:
a. to seek your feedback or to contact you in relation to content of the Website;
b. to improve EKT/NHRF operations, and anticipate and resolve problems with the Website;
c. to develop EKT/NHRF services to meet your needs;
a. to process and respond to requests from you;
b. to communicate with you about our services and businesses; and
c. for other purposes related to the EKT/NHRF activities.
4. Registering with ΤΕΚΜΗΡΙΑ as an author in order to submit papers for publication to the journal, or as a reader in order to receive email alerts regarding the content of the journal requires the supply of Personal Data such as your name and email, and the use of cookies.
5. Unless you have explicitly agreed otherwise, EKT/NHRF will not use or share your Personal Data with any third party, provided that:
a. EKT/NHRF may share your Personal Data with its agents, affiliates or contractors for processing in accordance with this Privacy Policy. This may mean transmitting the information to another country, but not including countries outside the European Economic Area, where EKT/NHRF agent, affiliate or contractor is located. EKT/NHRF will ensure that its agents, affiliates and contractors protect your Personal Data consistent with this Privacy Policy.
b. If EKT/NHRF transferred in part or in whole its business to another entity, EKT/NHRF may transfer your Personal Data to that entity, subject to commitments that the Personal Data will be protected according to this Privacy Policy.
6. EKT/NHRF tracks the patterns of usage of the pages on this Website. EKT/NHRF may disclose to carefully chosen third parties navigational and transactional information in the form of anonymous, aggregate usage statistics and demographics without revealing any user's identity or confidential information, except as required by law, as needed in connection with any legal proceedings, or unless EKT/NHRF has received your consent.
7. EKT/NHRF does not collect knowingly Personal Data for data subjects who have not reached 18 years of age.
8. You have a right to know about the Personal Data EKT/NHRF holds about you. You also have a right to have your Personal Data corrected or deleted. If you have questions about any of your Personal Data that we may hold, you can contact us at the following email: tekmeriainfo@eie.gr . In case you wish to change or delete your Personal Data from EKT/NHRF's records, you should notify EKT/NHRF in writing at tekmeriainfo@eie.gr stating expressly the desired change or deletion. It is likely then that EKT/NHRF may communicate with you in order to confirm your request for change or deletion of your personal data. In any case it is likely that a record of your Personal Data remains on EKT/NHRF's files, not to be used for commercial purposes, whereas EKT/NHRF reserves the right to occasionally communicate with you depending on EKT/NHRF's needs from time-to-time.
9. The names and email addresses of all authors of ΤΕΚΜΗΡΙΑ will be available to readers of the journal. These details are made available to facilitate scientific communication. You should be aware that this information may be collected and disclosed by others. EKT/NHRF cannot take any responsibility for such collection and disclosure.
10. EKT/NHRF may collect and process information regarding your use of the Website (hereinafter, Session Information). This may include your domain name (the text after the @ in your email address) and the associated IP address, and could also include your user name (the text before the @ in your email address). The amount of information sent depends on the settings you have on your web-browser; please check your browser if you want to learn what information it sends.
11. EKT/NHRF may store some information such as "cookies" on your computer when you view the Website. A cookie is a small file that a website transfers to a visitor's computer for record-keeping purposes. This information facilitates your use of the Website, reduces the need to re-enter information every time you visit the Website, and allows EKT/NHRF to provide a personalised experience on the Website. ΤΕΚΜΗΡΙΑ uses cookies in two ways: first, temporary, Session Control cookies are sent from EKT/NHRF's server to your computer and are used to validate access privileges. Second, at your choice a cookie is sent from our server and is stored on your computer's hard drive for automatic login. Cookies are used to enable EKT/NHRF to identify you without having to ask for your username and password, and to measure usage. 12. EKT/NHRF reserves the right to change this privacy policy without notice. Any changes to this Policy will be posted on this page.
